"Miss Song.... I did not want to worry you... But the Carving I pointed to? Of the pegasi and the hydra? It is an ancient symbol.... For the Apocalypse... nopony would know of that symbol except serious historians like myself. I doubt even the princesses would recognize it. This was no practical joke."

"Ah, but wasn’t the original meaning of apocalypse merely ‘revelation’? As in, that this was just a practical joke?” She giggled. “They probably just saw the picture in a book once and thought it would make a good decoration.” In an attempt to convince him that everything was okay now she moved over and stood where the clock had been, moving back and forth to demonstrate that whatever it had been it was completely gone now.
“Quite a good joke really; I must find out who it was so I can tell them.”

"Revelation? No, it is Unveiling. The unveiling of the end. And as for seeing it in a book, I hold one of only THREE copies. Miss Song, please. I am concerned for your safety."

"Now really, any number of ponies could have seen one of those books over the years, drawn the symbol, and then placed it in a book of their own. You can probably find it in countless places these days!” She laughed again. “But if you’re really so concerned about my safety why don’t you go and check that book of yours! Seems the best thing to do if you’re that worried; after all the clock itself is gone now so we can’t study that.”

"Now I know that it is DEFINITELY not a TARDIS. TARDIS's don't vanish like that- TARDIS's kind of fade in and out of existence," said River.

"As I said, it was probably just a practical joke,” repeated Sugar, turning to face River again as she spoke, “I’m sure whoever was behind it would be most amused to find out that we all got fooled rather than just me.”

"If it were a Unicorn, it would have also been glowing with magic," said River. She may not be from this universe, but she sure knew her way around it. "And I don't see any other species being able to do something like that."

"Miss Song... That clock is dangerous. Should it return... who knows what may come with it?"

"In which case the more we know about it the better,” insisted Sugar, crossing over to the door and holding it open, “and if you’re that worried then surely there’s no time to lose!”

“No, but if you really think so then you should be doing something about it instead of standing here arguing with silly old me.”

"... I.... I suppose you are right." "Caw!" "What? No, Miss Song would never do something like that, she doesn't have a deceptive bone in her body! Silly bird" Type began to leave, "I will return with the book in question, as well as anything else that might aid us!" He stepped outside.

Sugar rolled her eyes as Type began to converse with the bird on his shoulder, tapping one hoof impatiently against the floor as she waited for them to take the hint.
“Yes yes, you go do that! They say knowing is half the battle after all!” Truth be told, the mystery of the vanishing clock was bothering her far more than she was letting on. River was perfectly correct when she said that Unicorn magic would have left a visible trace that the timepiece in question did not, however Sugar was far more willing to believe her ‘TARDIS’ version of events than this silly talk of the end of the world.

Typewryter stepped back into the shop for a moment. "Miss Song, Munin has insisted that you are attempting to decieve me. Would you please explain to her that you are simply as concerned as I am?" "Caw!" "Munin! You watch your tongue, young lady!" "Caaw!" "Munin, Miss Song is a friend, she would never lie to us!" "caw?" "... Well.... I suppose you do have a point there..." "Caw?" "No, I don't suppose I would trust me either..." "Caw?" "Yes, you are right." He turned to Sugar Song, "Miss Song, I am sorry, but I must insist on staying here."

"Well, that was surprising. Would you like for me to grab my stuff?" asked River. Before anypony could answer, she turned a button on her coat, returning her to her human form. She punched some numbers into the Vortex Maniplulator, and disappeared.
