Sugar Song had absolutely no idea where the grandfather clock had come from. When she’d locked up the shop and gone to bed the previous night there had been an empty space in the corner of her shop, however upon returning in the morning she’d been shocked to find the spot now occupied by a very large, old-fashioned grandfather clock. She'd briefly considered the possibility that somepony had broken into her shop during the night and left it there, but the sheer size of the timepiece made it very clear that this was impossible. The clock was far larger than any that Sugar had seen before, and looked as if it would not fit through the door no matter how hard you tried.
“Jeepers,” said Sugar as she began to examine the clock, “it’s like it sprang up from nowhere...” Every inch of the clock’s surface was covered in intricate carvings that seemed to depict various scenes from Equestria’s history, although she had to admit that she only recognised a handful of them. There was a panel that showed Celestia locked in combat with Nightmare Moon, and another that seemed to depict the creation of Equestria. What surprised her however was that several panels seemed to depict more recent events, such as one that showed a younger version of Rainbow Dash performing her signature ‘sonic rainboom’ trick.
“Curious,” she murmured as she pulled out a loupe to examine the carvings in more detail, “this thing has to be at least a century old... somepony must have added these later...”

Sugar was so engrossed in studying the carvings that she didn’t hear the sound of another pony entering the shop, and thus when an unfamiliar voice addressed her she visibly jumped in surprise. Whirling around, loupe still in place at her eye, she found herself staring at a colt whom she’d never seen before.
“It’s n-not for sale,” muttered Sugar quickly, still rather thrown by the pony’s sudden arrival, “sorry, this is a... personal piece I guess.” She hastily plucked the lens from her eye and set it down on the counter again, before turning her attention back on the prospective customer. “Can I interest you in anything else?”

“Trust me,” said Sugar with a slight chuckle, “even if I was a dragon, I think at the moment I’d find that clock more interesting than a hundred bags of gems.” Crossing back over to the cashier desk, she perched herself on the stool that was set up behind it, her arms resting on the desk as she stared across at the stranger.
“Besides,” she added, a hint of amusement still on her voice, “I don’t think you’d even be able to get it through the doors if you did buy it.”

Thomas was curious , He examined the clock, "did you make this yourself?" Thomas asked her.

“No I didn’t,” admitted Sugar, “I mean, the clock part I could do perfectly, but decorations like that are way beyond me.” She was rather reluctant to admit to this colt that she couldn’t explain the clock’s origin, for she was afraid that the stranger would then claim that he therefore had just as much right to it as her and try to take it by force.
“It was a gift,” she said quickly, reasoning that this wasn’t entirely a lie, “from a secret admirer of mine. I only just found it.”

"Miss My name Is professor Thomas A. Johnson , You sound very nervous , like your lying, but if you were lying I would not blame you , Other ponies with strange artifacts think another pony might steal it, I should know , I knew those other ponies" Thomas told her, "So miss Was this really a gift?" Thomas asked.

"Yes, it was,” stated Sugar in a manner that made it perfectly clear she had no intention of debating this point any further. This was her shop, and she had no intention of putting up with this stranger waltzing into it and brazenly calling her a liar.
“Now as I’ve said, this clock is not for sale,” she continued, “you’re not going to change my mind on that, Mr. Johnson.”

Thomas Examined the Clock once more , "What is my niece doing carved on this clock?" Thomas asked while pointing to the picture of applejack holding on to twilight on a cliff.

“If you didn’t notice, there are lots of ponies carved on the clock,” said Sugar, perhaps more sardonically than she would have if she wasn’t already annoyed by this colt, “your niece must just have been involved in one of the events that inspired it.” From her position she couldn’t tell what was depicted in the panel he was looking at, but figured that with so many ponies carved into the surface it wasn’t that much of a coincidence to think that one of them might be related to him.

“This isn’t a museum Mr. Johnson,” snapped Sugar, irritation still polluting her usually genteel manners, “and I’m well aware of that. I do deal with antique clocks on a daily basis.” She actually had quite a sizable collection of them lining the walls of her home, for there was something about the steady tick of a hundred clocks that she found incredibly soothing.
