Equestria.
A peaceful land.
A happy land.
An innocent land.
But no place is truly perfect.
Every land has secrets, some of them darker than others.
Equestria is no different.
There are many secrets in Equestria.
There are many who seek to unlock these secrets.
But none so fervently as a young unicorn pony named Typewryter.
He is a writer.
A translator.
A historian.
He values nothing in this world more than knowledge.
He possesses a massive collection of ancient scrolls and books, some of which have never been seen by any living pony, other than him.
He braves ancient ruins, mountain peaks, and derelict tombs to aquire knowledge, but today, he faces a threat unlike any other.
Typewryter was deep within the Everfree forest, alone save for his closest friend; a raven named Munin that was perched on his shoulder. Before the two stood a collosal ruin, the remnants of the old castle from which the princesses ruled a thousand years hence. Typewryter was extatic, he had found an entrance to the castle's ancient library, a treasure trove of ancient secrets, unseen for years. He could barely contain his excitement as he and Munin descended the steps of the ruins, and stepped into the library. Massive, ruined shelves filled the room, all of them empty. Only a single book remained, bound in a locked, leather strap. Fortunately, the lock was old, and fell apart easily in his hooves. His horn glowed as he used his magic to slowly open the book. It was blank. He turned the pages frantically, refusing to believe that he had wasted his time coming here for an empty diary. Page after page was blank, until at last, midway through the book, a page bore a single illustration. A massive spherical mound of the corpses of strange creatures, like large, hairless monkeys. It glowed from within with a foul, red light. Beneath the vile illustration was a caption. Typewryter read it aloud, his voice echoing though the massive chamber, "Legion, the Granfalloon. What could that mean? Munin do you-" He stopped as the book began to shake violently, dropping from the magical aura that held it in the air. The pages tore themselves from the book, flying through the air and swirling around Typewryter. Munin shrieked and flew from her master's shoulder as he screamed in pain...

It was a bright and sunny day in Ponyville, and everypony was out enjoying the sun. Rainbow Dash had even gotten up early to clear the skies for everypony, and Princess Celestia had come for a casual visit to her student and her friends. It was a wonderful day. But as they enjoyed their day, everypony heard a shriek pierce the air as Munin. Flew into town, squawking and caawing in terror. Nopony had ever seen her away from Typewryter, and they were concerned for his safety; even if he had always been an... unusual pony.
((OOC: This is a serious, epic RP with a specific story. Please try to keep to the story, i.e. no side stories, unless they relate to the plot. Also, try to keep to a maximum of three posts per pony per hour, unless there is a dialogue going on at that moment. Thank you, and Have fun!))
