Name: Azure Cadabra
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Height: Just a tiny bit shorter than your average-sized mare
Species: Pony (Unicorn)
Talent: WayGatherer (Subcategories include: Travel Magic, minor combat magic, Hardiness, Speed, Alchemy)
Mark: WayGatherer's Mark (A potion flask over a map)
Background)
Coming from a family with a long history of armed Equestrian service, Azure always wanted to be like his father and brothers and help defend Equestria, or help keep the peace. Obsessed with the idea of the idea of Equestrian knighthood, young Azure took to training himself physically from a young age to fight, and to defend others in need (though, admittedly, sometimes whether they wanted his help or not) in hopes that one day he would get to traverse Equestria and beyond in its defense. Though many doubted the fruitfulness of such an endeavor, given the pony's unusual shortness, and lack of intimidation thereof, Azure pressed on mostly undaunted.
The last in his class to get his cutie mark, fate intervened in an odd way in Azure's life when he received a confusing, potion-based cutie mark that, at first, seemed to have nothing to do with combat whatsoever, and despaired that he would be confined to a life behind a counter messing with potions instead of in the face of adversary where he wished to be. Upon learning that his odd mark was one that belonged to a WayGatherer, and learning what all such a profession entails (traversing the world's less-traveled and more dangerous lands in search of alchemy ingredients), Azure brightened up, and eventually learned to embrace this odd new direction his life had taken.
Currently under the tutelage of licensed WayGatherer, Master Terrain Pathfinder, Azure now has 5 years of apprenticeship under his belt. In such a time, his courage, valor, and hardiness have been put to the test, as he's found out that sometimes being a WayGatherer not only puts you in danger, but can sometimes present itself with the opportunity to help others as well.
Currently on leave in between sessions of apprenticeship, how will Azure manage with regular pony life once more?
Bio)
Azure is a unicorn that holds steadfast to the ideals of honor and hard work. He does his best to be honest, and to try and be strong for others if he feels the need arises. He prefers to take conflict head-on, standing steadfast in the face of adversity. This can cause him problems from time to time, as Azure won't back down from a fight or a challenge on his honor or others' unless he's 100% certain that it would be more prudent to leave it be and come back to fight another day (and even then, sometimes it's a coin toss).
Azure's philosophy is one of hard work. He pours himself into his physical conditioning first and foremost. in this respect, he's a slight bit more like an earth pony than a unicorn. Though he does know some travel magic, and a few kinetic tricks to enhance combat, he prefers to rely on his own strength first and foremost before he resorts to his horn.
Though he does his best to be physically quick and strong, socially is another matter. He enjoys the company of others greatly, though he tends to be easily excitable at times. Azure's travels have made him a very open-minded pony, and this combined with his natural curiosity causes him to quite enjoy his interactions with non-pony races rather fondly. Tact is not always Azure's strong suit, as he has a strong tendency to speak his mind, if he believes it to be a good idea. Azure is quite good at heart, though, and usually means well with the things that he says.
Pony interactions are a bit different. Though Azure gets along fair enough with other ponies, he was used to being somewhat looked down upon due to his shorter-than-normal stature in his younger years. This was especially true for the fillies, and as such currently has little-to-no experience in dealing with them in any capacity beyond a business manner. He regards colts well enough as long as they don't act in a condescending manner, but tends to be a slight bit shy around fillies in pony.
Azure's is a very curious pony, and always eager to explore new things- whether it's geographically, scholastically, or otherwise. This, of course, has all of the pros and cons that most would think it entails.
NOTES:
- He enjoys telling stories. Asking him questions about his travels is a gesture that's always welcome. Who knows, you might hear something good!
