Current combatants This is Eradose. Welcome to the Ponyville Virtual Battle Tournament. I have brought over to Equestria my virtual combat system, and am looking for willing ponies to fight. I have a whole collection of characters to choose from, and when you enter the virtual combat system, you take on the abilities and skills of that character (you'll also be turned humanoid, but remember, this is only a simulation, so don't panic). Tomorrow, we'll be posting the list of available characters, and will begin taking applications. Stay tuned for more details. ((OOC: Okay, now to how this game will be played. I will be using the Lost Worlds combat system. www.flyingbuffalo.com/lostw.shtml For each battle, I will send a list of actions to each combatant to signify what they can do that round. Each combatant posts what they will do (and anything they say when they do it), and I will use the combat system to determine how the round plays out. The first one to be knocked down to 0 HP or less looses, and the winner goes to the next round. I will be keeping track of HP, ammo (when applicable, as some characters use crossbows and guns), and any special effects and restrictions. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, as I want you to understand how this works as best I can.)) |

Kharis please, I don't know what a Royal Mummy is, but it sounds facinating. =)

Okay, we got Nightmare Moon playing Nyx, and Arcel playing Kharis. I guess I should say a bit more about these characters...
Kharis is a guardian of a royal tomb, and is equipped with a club. He also can poison his opponent if he manages a slap attack.
Nyx is a master of flame magic, thanks in part to her living wand, which is parasitic in some regards.
((I'm also going to need to bring up spell cards and gimmick cards. Spell cards are special attacks that spellcasters (Praxides, Teflon Billy, and Nyx) can use when they use the "Cast Spell" attack. One spell card will be given at random to each spellcaster at the start of each fight, and once it's used, it's used up until the next fight.
Gimmick cards are special weapons used by ninjas (Night Fowl), and function the same way as spell cards.
I'll also bring up the "Flight" rules later on, but all of these rules are more something I have to keep track of, and not for you guys to worry about.))
Well, we still got 14 slots left. Let's get more ponies to join in.

Now we got viciouschord playing as Huit, and her creation, Ving.
Huit is a short elven alchemist (even shorter than Edward) that has a remote controlled golem called Ving, who looks like a large (she's very tall) elven woman. Ving has several weapons such as machine guns, rocket fists, and sonic attacks. She can also throw Huit at times for a flying kick attack.
Because she has ranged weapons, you may be required to reload them at times in order to use them again.

I see, reminds me of Carl Clover from Blazblue, XD. ((Funny you should mention that. There is a Noel Vermillion combat book that released yesterday. However, since it will take about a week for me to get her (I had the book on preorder), and the fact that no English translation is available for the book as of yet, she won't be a usable character, much like Laila: The Celestial Punisher, Great Pirate Captain Liliana, and Aldra: The Summoner. Since I don't have English translations for these books, they are currently unusable. Another group of unusable books are the Battletech and the Warhammer Warriors books. Although they use the same system, they use different rules. And in the case of the Battletech books, how well do you think somepony would do against a 50ft mech?)) |

A Tournament, sounds fun to play, I want be Brave One: The Samurai, because I like to be a Samurai XD, skilled whit the katanas of course right?
Also you said you gonna give us the Book we gonna use to play right?

Also you said you gonna give us the Book we gonna use to play right? Well, not give you the book, but rather the move list that can be done each turn. I'll be using the books to determine how the battle plays out based on your actions. I'll get you on the list. Also, Anna will be joining in as a new character that I recently ordered called Jubei Yagyu, another samurai like character. As I've said before, I've brought this over here, implying that this isn't the first time I've run this kind of tournament. Here's the latter from the last one...  As you can see, I had Twilight be the Akuma in this tournament. ((This was a project I did running the books as these webcomic characters would. As much as I would like to show how the tournament played out, the area it's in on the forum I did this on is a members only section. It was quite amusing too. The differance between that and this one is that I will have you all play the characters as you would, even down to any taunts and battle cries you want to do.)) I'm actually surprised no one is jumping at the chance to play as Darth Vader. |

haha, but then, we gonna play until all the character are selected?, or we can star a little early?
also, I never had been played a tournament XD, so I not very sure how to play XD, can explainme the dinamic better?

We'll wait until all 16 slots are filled, because I'll try to pair matches in the tournament based on how I think you would react to each other (for example, if Celestia joined in, I'd pit her against Nightmare Moon in the first match). Here's how it works. Of the 16 fighters, I will split them into 8 pairs of 2. Each pair will fight, and the winner moves on to the next round. We then move to 4 pairs, and continue from there, then 2 pairs, then one final pair. Whoever wins that match will win the whole tournament. Well, at least that's what it will seem...As for how each match plays out, I will send a move list via PM to each fighter. The fighter posts what move they'll do here, and anything they want to say while doing said move. I will compare moves based on the book layout, and that will determine the result. The last pony with any HP left wins (or, in the case of a double KO, whoever has the least amount under zero). I could stage a proxy battle to give you an idea of how this will work. Who wants to participate in the proxy battle to show how this will work? (I'll be using my Warhammer books for the proxy battle, since they only work with each other) |
