Sugar breathed a sigh of relief as the strange colt flounced out of the store, however before she could flip the sign on the door around to closed and give herself time to examine the strange clock further a more familiar face entered.
“Hey Vicious,” replied Sugar, glancing back at the offending clock again as she spoke, “yes, it certainly is a mystery. There’s no sign of anypony having broken in here.” She sighed, turning back to face the colt again. “I guess I must have left the door unlocked...” That could have made such a mistake was certainly quite a worrying thought; what if the intruder had been somepony who wanted to clear out her entire inventory? Of course, even if it had only been a harmless prank, entering without permission like that was inadmissible. If this turned out to be Pinkie Pie again she was going to give her a piece of her mind.

"Well, no... This clock looks very expensive, and the screws show no sign of being removed... This is weird..." Vicious looked at the clock in an attempt to see any sign of entry, no skid marks, no dust removed on the clock, it's like it was there the entire time.

"It could have been a unicorn,” suggested Sugar, fitting the loupe into her eye again and examining one of the aforementioned screws, “if the pieces were all levitated in one by one then there wouldn’t be any physical signs of them being moves.” Unfortunately this hypothesis did not hold up when you looked at the screws, for just as Vicious had said they looked as if they had not been adjusted in a very long time. Pondering perhaps that the mystery might be solved by a look inside the clock, she carefully prised open the door that would normally provide access to the pendulum, only to leap back in surprise at what she saw.
“Jeepers!” she exclaimed, eyes widening so far that the lens dropped from her eye and smashed on the floor below, “what... what is that?” It wasn’t that the clock was empty; it was more like it didn’t have an interior. Beyond the door was nothing but an empty black void, with looked like it extended far further in all directions than should be possible from the size of the clock.

It was at this point that River walked in to check up and check if Sugar wanted to know if she was a timelord yet, but saw the clock. The first thought that ran through River's head was ,"TARDIS." Of course, she then wondered why it would be dark, and decided it might not be. TARDIS's can be dark, but why would this one be? She walked over to the two. "So... How's your day going so far?" she asked.

"What? Vicious moved from the back of the clock to the front, to see the void. "Well, I personally have no clue what I'm looking at here." Vicious reached into the void, his eyes widened, and he started screaming, "SOMETHINGS GOT MY HOOF!! IT'S PULLING ME IN!!" Vicious started laughing and pulled his hoof out. "I'm just messing with you Sugar, but anyways, I couldn't feel anything. So.... You want to go in first?" Vicious gestured towards the void in the clock.

"Don't we want to make sure it's safe, first? My Timey Wimey Detector is right here. I can see if there's stuff in there," said River. She then realized it was bigger than the door, and didn't appear to have been taken apart, which supported her earlier TARDIS theory. "Where did this come from, anyway?"

“Oh hey River,” said Sugar, glancing over at the new arrival for a moment before turning her focus back on the clock, “my day’s been... strange, to say the least.” At that moment Vicious suddenly began screaming in alarm, however just before Sugar could wrench him away from the void her burst out laughing, confessing the whole thing to have been a joke.
“That’s not funny,” muttered Sugar, lightly thumping him on the shoulder, “you almost gave me a heart attack.” She stared into the blackness again, eyes straining to find some sign of anything at all lurking in the gloom. In her opinion it had been distinctly reckless of the colt to stick his hoof into it like that, however that was nothing compared to the idea of jumping in head first.
“You’re not actually suggesting we go in there!?” said Sugar in disbelief, “There’s no way of knowing if we’d ever come out again! And we don't know where it came from, I found it this morning.” She added this last part for River, who had just inquired about the item's provenance.

"Sugar said it just appeared out of nowhere. Can a TARDIS do that?"

"Oh, yes. That is how TARDIS's get around- disappearing here, reappearing there. They can fly regularly, but it is slower, and hard to pilot. The disappearance is supposed to be silent, but The Doctor leaves the break on in his, creating a grinding noise. Anyway, that's how TARDIS's move in time and space," said River. "TARDIS's are also alive. Sentient. They also have many models. The Doctor has a Type 40 model, which has been obsolete for many years."

"So... I just stuck my hoof in... Okay gross, but what do we know about this particular TARDIS?"

“I think if this was a ship of some kind we’d be able to see something inside it,” said Sugar, who was now peering down into the void to see if there was any sign of a floor, “but there’s nothing. It’s like there’s just a hole in the world.” She shuddered, rapidly pulling back from the clock to face the two other ponies again. Sugar wasn’t exactly eager to encourage this talk of TARDISes. River had gotten the curious idea in her head that she might be something called a Time Lord, and Sugar had no wish to provide her with any more ‘evidence’ of this.
“It's not a TARDIS!" she snapped as, much to her annoyance, Vicious subscribed to this theory as well, "If it was a ship then somepony would need to have piloted it here, and as we said there's no sign of another pony having been in the shop."

"Well, only one way to find out, and that's to go inside, and from what I can sense, the TARDIS theory makes sense." Vicious looked at Sugar.

"I am not saying it is a TARDIS. I am just saying it is a possibility. And, TARDIS's can look like whatever the pony who designed it wants to to look like. It could be that it was designed with no floor, or walls. Just a void. And Timelords have a certain way of... Disappearing. Not like TARDIS's do, just.. they can be very good at sneaking. And, as I said, no need to feel pushed on in the Timelord subject. I said you might be a Timelord, not that you definately are. It may just all be a big coincidence," said River. "We still don't know what's going on with this Theta Sigma stuff, too- He is the nickname of a guy you had a crush on at school on this planet a couple decades ago, at most, but also the nickname my husband used at school on another planet hundreds of years ago."

Typewryter opened the door to SugarSong's shop, carrying a large bag of bits in his teeth. Sropping it on the ground, he began to speak, "Miis Song? I'm here about that pocket watch. 300 bits, as I-" He noticed the clock. "That carving! I've seen it before!" he points with his hoof to a stylized carving of two pegasi battling a six headed hydra, "But the book it was in... is over three thousand years old... Where did you find this?"

“Who said that Theta Sigma was a guy?” said Sugar with a slight smile, “She was a teacher back when I was at school.” It was quite a relief to hear River say that it might all be a coincidence, for it was the first sign that she’d shown of letting the matter drop. She was about to return the topic of conversation to the mysterious void when at that moment however the door yet again, and Sugar cursed herself for not locking it after River entered when she saw Typewryter ambling into the room. There was something about the unicorn that just set her completely on edge, especially with the way he brashly brandished his bits around, which made her very unwilling to trust him.
“It was a gift,” she stated quickly, shooting a very meaningful look across at Vicious and River in an attempt to implore them not to contradict her, “from a secret admirer. They must have known that I like antique clocks.”
