Of course, my friend! But for future reference, Elemental magic is classified as Evocation, not Conjuration. Conjuration magic is all about summoning. You see, when a pony makes a blood pact with a creature, they can call that creature at will with a bit of magic, and it will fight by their side. It is very difficult magic, and almost impossible to truly master; as more powerful creatures are harder to summon. I can summon Munin here, but I'd probably die from the strain of calling, say, a dragon. Conjuration also covers banishment and exorcism spells as well, so dispelling other summons requires conjuration. Finally, if a pony knows a creature's TRUE name, they can call and command them by speaking it. This uses the power of the true name, so even pegasi, earth ponies, or griffons can do it. But most creatures don't even know their own true names, so its not common. Oh, and one more thing, the Ultimate conjuration spell is called Gate. This spell opens a portal and calls forth a random creature. Now, this can be useless, as it could summon a frog. But, it could also summon a dark elder god. There's one major problem with the spell though. See, not only does it rely on luck, but it can kill the caster. The spell finds a creature and makes it appear. It does NOT make the creature obey you. And big things do NOT like being summoned.

Yes, but there is another side to conjuration, and thats the inanimate summoning of items, its less common, but it does work. The only example I have with me at the moment though is Twilight Sparkles ability to summon a door from thin air, when questioned, she said herself that it was summoning magic and not creation.

Ah, I've heard tales of such a thing. Demonic ponies and the like... And I've heard stories of the "true name" thing but I had been told that they were just lost and forgotten legends... Mere pony tales....
Also, thank you for giving me the facts and correct terminology... But yes, that's my two bits worth on Elemental magic... I've tried to help Arcel with his studies, but I'm not sure if it has helped at all... I hope it has. Let me know if you have any more questions for me. And Arcel? Let me know what becomes of your studies!

Wonderful! Well, We've covered all that now... How about we try Divination? Or Enchantment?

I will Mr. Coby... and I believe Enchanchantment would be a good place to continue... though it is a subject I admitably know less about.

Well, Enchantment magic, simply put, focuses on spells that maanipulate others. There are enchantments which let you control other beings, put them to sleep, paralyze them.... There are also more... terrible... enchantments... You see, True names aren't the only vocal magic. Words have power, and there are three power words that act as enchantments. One that will put anything to sleep, one that will paralyze anything, and one that will kill anything. Each is four syllables long, and powerful enough to even affect beings like Galaxiour. I have found a single syllable, though I know not of which word...

Wait.. Can't enchantment magic be placed into items? Or would that tie into "magical crafting?" I know in Mare some enchantments were involved with the elemental ponies of old... And they also carried magical artifacts... What would that fall under exactly?

Ah, you're talking about Arcana magic, which weaves magic itself. That allows you to put magic into items, or even make magic tangible in a liquid form called tass. Though some ponies call these items enchanted, the proper term is Arcanized

Hmm... Arcana... I remember hearing about that in a book... Although the Arcana I'm referring to is a type of personality... Tarrot Cards tie into this. "The foal, tower, justice, ect..." I've read that these can also effect magic in some way. Is that true, do you know? I apologize if this is getting everything off topic. If it is, I will stop posing questions for the time being.

Oh no, this is all about the questions! (And the longer we avoid necromancy, the better) These Tarot cards are actually nothing to do with magic, they are playing cards. Over time, some ponies began to associate them with magic and named the suits the Major and Minor Arcana, but this is unrelated to Arcana Magic. Though, Tarot has had some influence on magic in terms of naming.

That would figure... Although I've heard of ponies and birth signs tying in with types of magic. I suppose this is just an old ponies tale as well. Either way, it was an interesting read. As far as Arcanized items go, The cloak that I wear is fire proof. The blade I use is a special one I made myself. I infused it with an ore from Mare, soul stone we call it. This allows me to have more magical control over it. I'd assume you own a various collection of these things yourself, Typewryter. Would I be right in that assumption? What about you, Arcel?

Well, I do posses a few magical ores, though I am unfamiliar with this "Souls Stone" you speak of. However, your comment on birth signs brings up an interesting point, magic is in fact colored by the birth sign a pony is born under, as a pony's personality is colored as well. Birth signs have a very mysterious power wich is still being studied, though that falls under the purview of Starry Eyes in the Royal Observatory.

I thought as much. From what I have read it would stand to reason... As for "Soul Stone." It is the solid state of magic. From what I can gather, it is only found in Mare. Not sure if that's true or not, but that's the only place I've seen it. Once you touch it, all of your energy is restored and your magic seems to grow a little. Not sure on that last part, but it is a truly fascinating mineral. I've only had the chance to see it about twice, so I don't really know the details on it's properties...

Oh? Sounds like tass. It's the liquid form of magic, a shimmering golden fluid found in rare springs deep beneath the ground.

Yes, Tass, a subject that Type is quite familier with... though I don't wish to dredge up negative memories about such a thing.
So Soul stones are another naturaly occuring for of magic, amazing.. so there is a solid and liquid form it would seem... but I suppose magic doesn't come in a natural gassous state, or am I mistaken?
